Nutritional Counseling is Covered by Many Insurance Companies

Many health insurance plans provide coverage for nutrition counseling by a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN). A physician referral may be required.

I offer convenient online appointment scheduling and a comprehensive electronic health platform.  From secure online paperwork to messaging and document sharing, I utilize technology to save you time.

Insurances accepted include Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts and Harvard Pilgrim Healthcare.  For other insurance plans, I will provide you with a detailed receipt that you can submit for insurance reimbursement.

Virtual Nutrition Counseling

I also offer HIPAA-compliant, virtual nutrition services through a powerful and feature rich, technology partner. Virtual visits services allow you to have regular consultations without leaving your home or office. All you need is a computer, phone or tablet. Virtual visits are not typically covered by insurance.

The barriers of hectic family schedules no longer keep you from getting regular support and ensuring the best health for you and your family.

Nutrition Counseling Frequently Asked Questions

What is Nutrition Counseling?

Nervous about seeing a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN)? Don’t be! A good nutrition consultation isn't like a lecture about what you should be doing. You won’t feel as though you’re being scolded or judged either. Rather, you'll experience a caring and compassionate relationship with careful listening to understand where you and your family are right now in terms of lifestyle and diet, and a collaborative approach to help you achieve your goals.

Does Insurance Cover Nutrition Counseling?

Nutrition counseling (medical nutrition therapy) is a covered benefit for many insurance plans. Coverage does vary and a physician referral may be necessary. Currently, I’m an in-network provider for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts and Harvard Pilgrim Healthcare insurances. During our complimentary discovery call, I will answer questions and can assist with verifying coverage.

What payment options are available for services?

Payment is due at the time of service. Payment methods accepted: cash, credit (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover), Health Savings Account (HSA) and flexible spending accounts (FSA).
